Larger and more infrequently used items should go in the back of the unit. Remember to keep a walkway in the center of your unit to more easily access items. Always keep items labeled and a list of items stored, even a photo on the outside of each box will allow you to "see" what's inside.

Little Orchard Self Storage is located at 1833 Little Orchard Street, San Jose, CA 95125. We’re just south of downtown San Jose, near The Plant shopping center. You can easily access our facility from the Willow Glen, South Willow Glen, Canoas Gardens, Rose Garden, Naglee Park, College Park, Communication Hill, and Fruitdale. Beautifully situated on Highway 87, Almaden Expressway, and Monterey Road, you can visit us on your way home or on your way to work.
Our office is open from 9:00 am until 6:00 pm (Monday through Friday) and from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm (Saturday and Sunday). We are closed on major holidays: New Year's Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
You may access your unit between the hours of 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM seven days per week. We secure the entire property for the night at 8:30 PM.

We use the most technologically advanced security system available in the self-storage industry. This system allows us to monitor all activity on site and even allows you to view your access history or get notified of alarms and access activity right from your smartphone.

Square feet is the measurement commonly used in the self-service storage industry to denote a unit size and is calculated by multiplying length by width. Cubic feet is the measurement generally used by the moving companies who load up and transport your property and is calculated by multiplying the length by width by height.
Here is an example: our 5 x 10 storage unit has a 10' high ceiling, so the unit measures 50 square feet (5x10) and 500 cubic feet (5x10x10).
Yes, we do require a signed rental agreement. However, the lease is month-to-month for as long as you need the space. We do offer discounts for pre-payment of rent, which is refundable should your needs change (restrictions apply).
Rent is due on the first of each month. Late penalties are assessed per the California Self Storage Facilities Act and lien laws.
We are happy to report that we have not had any break-ins or thefts on site. If you want to verify this, you can check with our local Police Department. We work hard to make sure the facility is safe. We participate in the Crime Watch program for storage facilities. We also encourage our tenants to tell us if anything seems amiss.
Yes, we offer both hallway and drive-up storage units. Our facility is set apart from others because all units are on the ground floor, so you never have to climb stairs or find a way to the second floor.
We will explain the basics of the California law to you at the time of rental. It's not really too complicated. As long as you pay your rent on time, there will never be a problem.
Yes! We require and highly recommend insurance to protect your stored property. Our Protection Plan is added to all accounts unless a Declaration is provided prior to renting the storage unit. We encourage all customers to contact your Homeowner's or Renter's agent to ensure that the private policy covers self-storage.
You may lose everything you have stored! Always know the law. Late fees and penalties may occur at the very least. Self-storage does not generally fall under the same guidelines as renting an apartment. Know your rights and responsibilities. Sign up for online bill pay to ensure you don't accidentally miss a payment.
